Evangelism in a Nutshell

2-18-04

Due to the repeated lessons from the scriptures I set my life to deliberately obey the commands and apply the biblical principles. Living faith requires love led good deeds. Along the way I am admonished to not give preference to the world, the flesh or the devil as much as possible.

For me, becoming evangelical, fundamental, missions-oriented and zealous comes directly from the simple understanding and practical application of the Bible.

For example on the mission field, when the Bible is translated into a new language or given to those who had zero church heritage -- often they become highly motivated lay ministers apart from denominational traditions or academic credentials. They just read the Bible, get excited about knowing God personally and do what it says to take the gospel to others.

Here is evangelism in a nutshell.

The gospel is extremely Good News.

Anyone, anywhere and any time can become translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

An enemy of Christ can become His friend due to His amazing grace.

We are commissioned by God Himself to serve as ambassadors.

We can daily take this message of reconciliation to anyone who will hear.

What is too complicated about that?

How much formal education do you need to gracefully communicate the truth in love to a neighbor, friend or coworker?

You can directly or indirectly communicate the following:

Jesus came to seek and save you.

Jesus knows all about you, yet loves you completely.

Christ wants you to live with Him forever in Heaven.

You can have eternal life if you will only accept His free gift of salvation.

I have a testimony of His redeeming power and so can you.

I once was lost but now I am found.

I have peace with God.

I am no longer afraid of death.

I am confident that my sins have been forgiven.

My salvation is based on what Jesus has done for me on the cross.

God answered MY prayers!

God will answer YOUR prayers too!

I meet with some very loving people each week.

And we would like you to join us.

Biblical Christianity is all about a personal relationship with God through Jesus.

This is NOT a dead and boring religion.
